hsbMake | Office sync to server version

This article explains how to ensure that all users of hsbMake Office are using the same major (v26, v27, etc.) software version as the server. In hsbMake Office, the version of hsbMake on the server is leading, and all user versions must match the server version to avoid compatibility issues.

When Syncing files from the server to the shared folder the process removes all files and folders that are not synced. Never sync to a folder used by other parts of the program.

Local | Get correct version from the server

This section describes how to sync files in the network shared folder location to update hsbMake office. Double click on the hsbSupport Tools icon on your desktop

Next select the Synchronize Product Files option.

*If this option is not available then you could be running an old version of the software or not have the ProductSettings.json file installed. If this is the case, please contact the support desk for assistance.

When the following window opens browse to the location of the server files and click OK.

Once syncing is complete the local hsbMake Office is on the same version as the server and can be opened.

Server | Synchronising Server files to shared folder

The following steps explain how to created the files for syncing hsbMake office from the files located on the hsbMake server. This should be done when an update is applied to the hsbMake server by an advanced user or company IT team member that is updating the hsbMake server. Double click on the hsbSupport Tools icon on the server desktop.

If the Synchronize product Files shows: "I want to sync product files from a shared folder" do not run the sync as this will override the server files!

In the next window browse to the location where the versioning files can be put. Once syncing is complete notify all the hsbMake Office users to sync their hsbMake Office version to the server as explained in step 1, so they can update to the same version as the server.
