Essential Guide to hsbConsole (Video)

Basis knowledge of the hsbConsole

The hsbConsole is an all-purpose controlling tool.
It should always be displayed on the screen.
With a right mouse click on the dialog box the hsbConsole can be fixed on the edge of the screen or you can display it on a second screen where ever you want.

You can:

  • Controls the functionality of the groups.
  • Sets the Filter Z coordinates.
  • You can import groups from another drawing.
  • Have a look in the tools tab, Toolings of an objects.
  • Controls the insertion of toolings.
  • Controls the visibility of different objects, informations and toolings in the tab settings.

Groups Tab

With the help of the group control you can set a house structure and assign objects to this structure / groups.
This structure is build up of three different levels.

  • House level group is the top level
  • Floor level group is the mid level
  • Element level group is the bottom level

A structure in real could look like this:
House level: 01_Wall Frames / Floor level: 00_Ground Floor / Element level: 002

You can assign objects to more than one group.
You can find all available commands in relation to the group control only in the hsbConsole in tab group or advanced group.
For more commands you have to work with the context menu of a group (right mouse click on a group). e.g. a plate could be assigned to a wall as well as to the roof.
In the tab groups you can save ucs-settings and views and assign it to groups.
Whenever you set a group as a current group the ucs and the view will switch to predefined ucs and view.
Furthermore with the help of the context menu you can select roof-, floor- and wall elements and display them in the hsbLayout. Groups

To set a group current, double click on a group or left-click on a group set as current group, it has to have an X infront.

Floor levels that have a brown icon, are levels that are marked with Deliverable container.
This means its ready to be deliverable to go to a machine, Dbase or cnc export.

Add new entities to current group option (Video)

Assign all newly created objects to the current group.
But you have to set a group current before using this option. (A group is current when a 'X' is visible in front of the group)

This video is about adding New entities to current group in the hsbConsole.

More options

  • Apply Group UCS when current group set:
  • Apply group view when current group set:
  • Set view configuration when current group set:
  • Freeze Layers when group is turned off:
  • Auto regenerate:

Context Menu

  • Add/Edit group

You can add groups to the group structure.
Advice: You can save a group structure in your template drawing and use this group structure for all projects.

  • Delete group

You can delete a group.
!If the Floor level group has elements attached to them you can't delete this group.
!If the Floor level group has loose material attached to them you can delete this group.

  • Erase element construction
  • Show only selected group at this level

The level that you have selected will be the only one visible.

  • Toggle only selected group
  • Set viewport in layout
  • Thaw element in layout
  • Freeze element in layout
  • Set element in one layout
  • Set as current group
  • Add objects to group
  • Add objects to group using layer filter
  • Add objects to viewport group
  • Remove objects from group
  • Rename
  • Select all object which belong to group
  • Link group with current view and Ucs
  • Link element group with element
  • Link with current display configuration
  • Reset display configuration link
  • Create viewport for group
  • Set floor height
  • Toggle Deliverable Container

Concept:
When drawing an Element in a Floor level group this group will automatically change into a deliverable container.

Loose material
When drawing for instance a beam (A) this should not belong to more than 1 deliverable container.
This means that beam (A) should only be outputted once, you should only see this once in the bill of material.
Deliverables (outputted elements) should all ways be on a Floor level.

An element (Wall) is outputted into a DXA file.
A loose beam that is on a floor level is outputted into a DXI file.

In order for the group to be able to output into a DXI file, the Floor group needs to be flagged “Is deliverable container”.
This flag is only available for floor groups. It can be set:

Automatically when calling generate construction on an element of the floor.
Automatically on opening a drawing for all floor groups that contain elements.
When adding a floor group (enhanced Add group dialog box, figure 1.2 ).
When calling the toggle in the console context menu (figure 1.1).

Since this deliverable flag is part of the state of a drawing, it will be possible to:

Store all dxi/dxa files of a dwg, without the need to select “loose material” groups.
Generate a reliable model map file of the dwg.
In the future we will implement a check on the entities that belong to a deliverable container group. For instance a beam should not belong to more than 1 deliverable container / element group.
You can toggle the deliverable container (Floor level) (Figure1.1) on and off by selecting [PICTURE hsbCONSOLE-Floor level icon.png] and right click, select “Toggle deliverable container”, this then changes to the following icon [PICTURE hsbCONSOLE-Deliverable container icon.png].

  • Move to…
  • Copy to…

- Element Walktrough

- Pickfirst group info

- Current Group info

This is a a quick way of knowing the Floor Height and the Deliverable state for the current group.
Usually you can tell the deliverable state based on the icon, but when the group is current the 'X' replaces that icon.

Painter tab

Painter is a high-level filter system, which gives you the opportunity to focus on specific items in the model. Useful when working with for example CLT, and whenever you need to analyze data as you do in hsbBOMLink or tsl.
