FAQ: I can't create a connection in Revit®

In Autodesk Revit®, it might be possible that the symbol that represents a connection does not load. This can have a couple of reasons. The first step thing you will need is to have two Revit system types (wall, roof or floor).

Missing item container

One of the main reasons why you cannot see a connection symbol is because there are no item containers linked to the walls. In the following video, you can see how to cope with that.

System type is not joined

In Revit you can "disallow join" on a system type. This takes away the join between two system types. It might be confusing since it sometimes seems like the join is still present, but it's easy to check this. In the following video, you can see how to cope with this issue.

System type is not matched to a framing style

It is possible that your connection detail does not show up because your wall does not have a framing style attached to it. In the following video, you see how you can set that up.
