Question mark in my command ribbon (Video)

Issue:

You created a new toolbar or ribbon and added commands to the CUI file for the toolbar/ribbon. However, when you loaded the CUI file, the toolbar/ribbon buttons displayed question marks instead of the correct icon images.

Causes:

The commands refer to images which originally resided in a DLL named after the CUIx file from which you obtained the commands/tools. If there is no DLL file named after the current CUIx file that contains those images, the cloud with question mark will result.

Solution:

BLOCK_CHECK_START

To display the correct icon on the customized toolbar/ribbon buttons:

Step 1. Copy the DLL file from which the commands originated (e.g. acadm.dll, acad.dll, acade.dll, etc.) to the Program Files directory for your specific program (e.g. C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20xx or C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20xx\ACADE, etc.) folder, and rename it using the same base file name as that of the CUIx file (for example, partial.dll if partial.cui is the corresponding CUIx file).

Step 2. Remove any custom cui file name.mnr file contained in the folder where your custom CUIx file resides.

Step 3. Restart the AutoCAD program in question.
