SimpleFastener TSL – Leveraging the Fastener Database in Your Projects
The SimpleFastener TSL is the first tool designed to integrate seamlessly with fasteners stored in the Fastener Database, allowing you to use pre-defined and custom fasteners directly in your projects. With two distinct modes for fastener representation, SimpleFastener provides the flexibility to choose between detailed visualizations or optimized performance based on project needs.
Modes of Fastener Representation
The SimpleFastener TSL offers two different modes to represent fasteners, each serving specific project requirements:
- Fastener Entity (Style-Based)
- This mode creates a graphical representation of the wood screw as a simplified, style-based entity. It’s ideal for projects where visual detail is essential, providing a clear depiction of each fastener.
- Use Case: When you need fasteners to be visually correct in your design.
- Hardware Component (TSL-Based)
- In this mode, the screw is visualized as linework, which is less detailed but optimized for performance. This representation is useful for large projects or those where fastener detail is less critical, minimizing resource usage.
- Use Case: When working on large-scale models where performance is prioritized over visual detail.
Selecting the Appropriate Mode
The choice between Fastener Entity and Hardware Component depends on the required level of detail and overall project performance. For detailed designs where each screw needs to be clear, the Fastener Entity mode is ideal. For simpler representations or when handling large models, the Hardware Component mode offers a more efficient solution.
Export Requirements
Each mode has specific export requirements. Be sure to select the correct export process based on the mode used in your project to ensure compatibility and accurate results in downstream applications.
