Version 28 of hsbDesign for AutoCAD®
New and improved in hsbDesign 28 for AutoCAD®
This update improves data accessibility, shop drawings, exports, and IFC imports. The "Height from UCS" property can now be queried for PainterFilters, tags, and Excel exports. Egger EcoBox profiles have been added under Extrusion Profiles.
The new StackHatch TSL enhances shop drawings with hatching and solid fills. BVX2 exports now support Kabuto and Double Housed Tenon as Double Finger. The Element Nailing extension adds a "Sheet Tags to Ignore" option. And for IFC imports, the IFC Import Manager now supports IfcGrid.
General
AutoCAD Architecture 2025 Support – hsbDesign 28 is fully compatible with AutoCAD Architecture 2025®, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
Note: hsbDesign 28 does not work with previous versions of AutoCAD Architecture®. Check the compatibilities here: versioning information
The existing "Height from UCS" property against a Beam can now be queried and used in various workflows. This allows you to retrieve height information when a beam is parallel to the UCS and apply it in:
- PainterFilter – For more precise filtering based on beam height.
- Tags – To automatically label elements with accurate height values.
- ExcelExport – Ensuring height data is available for reporting and calculations.
This improves data accessibility, making height relative to UCS information easier to integrate into your projects.

Egger EcoBox Profiles Added
The Egger EcoBox profiles have now been added to the Timber Module under "Extrusion Profiles." Making it easier to integrate them into your projects. With this addition, users can seamlessly incorporate Egger’s latest product into their designs, improving material selection and workflow efficiency.
TSL
New TSL: StackHatch for Filled Shop Drawings
The StackHatch TSL has been introduced to add hatching and solid fills to StackItems, StackPacks, and StackEntities in shop drawings. This improves visual clarity and provides better control over how stacking elements are displayed.
✔ Supports all Stack TSLs – Works with StackItems, StackPacks, and StackEntities.
✔ Flexible Placement – Can be added in model space or block space.
✔ Painter Filtering – Allows more control over visibility by overriding complex settings.
✔ Customizable Appearance – Supports edge lines, colors, and transparency settings.
✔ Easy View Management – Can be applied to specific views or all views for flexibility.

New X-Fix-Cconnector types have been added to replace outdated models, ensuring compatibility with current production standards. The following R15 types are now available by default:
✔ X-fix C 96/130/45 R15
✔ X-fix C 96/130/65 R15
✔ X-fix C 96/130/90 R15
✔ X-fix C 96/130/130 R15
Changes & Configuration Updates:
- Legacy Marking: Older R10 connectors are now marked as legacy types, with their text displayed in red, as they will be phased out in future versions.
- Version Conflict Detection: When XML settings are located in <hsbcad>\Content\General\TSL\Settings, the system will detect potential version conflicts with the drawing settings.
- Update Option: Selecting "Update" will load the new settings into the DWG file. It is recommended to do this within the template for consistency.
- Sorting & Customization: The R15 types now appear first in the list, with all type-related data stored in the XML file.
Export
BVX2 Export for Kabuto
The Kabuto component tool can now be exported via BVX2, enabling seamless integration into BVX workflows.
BVX2 Export for Double Housed Tenon as Double Finger
The Double Housed Tenon can now be exported as Double Finger via BVX2. This ensures better compatibility with Cambium, aligning the export results with its processing requirements.
New filtering option: "Sheet Tags to Ignore" in Element Nailing Extension
The Element Nailing extension now includes a "Sheet Tags to Ignore" property, allowing users to exclude specific sheets from nailing based on their tags. This enhancement provides greater control over the nailing process, ensuring that tagged sheets remain unaffected. This update improves flexibility and prevents unwanted nailing in designated sheet areas, streamlining production workflows.

IFC Import
New Feature: IFC Grid Import Now Supported.
The IFC Import Manager now supports importing IfcGrid, which will be recognized as hsbtype "Grid" in AutoCAD. This enhancement allows users to bring in grid structures from IFC files, improving alignment and coordination withintheir models. With this update, working with reference grids from external sources becomes more seamless, enhancing workflow efficiency and design accuracy.
